The worst thing to do is get embarrassed by it. If anyone asks just admit it. Confronting the problem is the best way to overcome it. If it does spread round the school just say it's true when people ask "is it true?" and soon after it will be old news. Trust me. Things could've been worse... I mean, your mum or dad could've caught you!
