To have the natural inclination to get to know and become friends with a girl (Liking her of course) and expecting her to like me?

This has happened over my life countless times, where I get caught in the Friend Zone. I've tried to overcome it, but its just something I do naturally. Ive been told I'm charming, cute, athletic, talented, nice, funny, amazing, strong, and yet not a boyfriend. I get told those things by a girl, and she says everything is there, she just doesn't know why she doesn't like me.
