as a 14 year old guy, i think i had the same problems when i was younger.. i'm 17 now
i had my first date when i was 13 =P at that time, everything was sweet and nice, the girl was also a little older than me, but oh well who cares =)

i suggest you should just go slowly with her, the first feeling she have for you must be that you're young but secure, you dont have to prove to her that you're strong enough to protect her from anything (that's quite impossible...) just let her know no matter what you will be there to support her... i truly think that girls need that more than physical support!

as for me now, i like a girl that's younger than me, the only reason i'm not being with her is that i dont wanna defy her parents about not allowing her to date at a young age... i dont know how long this can last but i'm sure i love her and i'll wait.
