People don't always cut on the wrists, that's just where people notice/find out about it the most. People cut on the legs, thighs, shoulders, upper arms, stomach, everywhere imaginable.

It's hard to understand cutting unless you're unfortunate enough to have been dumb enough to try it during a time of weakness.

I mean, for me, I cut for the first time when I was at an all time low. I lost everything, then I went through a breakup, and I couldn't control myself. You just feel numb at that point, so the statement "I cut to feel alive" isn't just an "Emo" saying, it's actually how it feels. You don't have any emotions left, you're totally destroyed, then you try anything to feel something. Drugs, alcohol, cutting, it's all the same thing. It's all disgusting.
