This is nothing to be proud about nor to be envious of. Think of the quality of those relationships, if you can even call them that. Clearly she was dating garbage who only wanted to use her, or she was using them. Either way it amounts to a lot of bullshit. Be glad you're not part of that. I rather choose quality over quantity.

As for your friend. Talk to her without her boyfriend present. Pry her away if you have to, and lay everything out. Don't hold back. I'm not saying be a bitch or give attitude, but tell her exactly how you feel. Tell her you want your best friend back.

There will be two outcomes: She has an epiphany and sees the light, and realizes what she has done and you guys become the friends you used to be (or pretty close). The other is she says too bad, and you move on. In the first case, all is well. In the second, at least you know the truth, and you can move on. As already suggested, get to know some of your other friends. You never know what might come of it.

If outcome two is what happens, and she breaks up with him and is seeking a shoulder to cry on, don't give in. Seriously. She shouldn't burn bridges; you never know when you're going to need to cross them again.
