Every test they gave me for various things came back negative. It was strange. I think she didn't swab my throat right and I had something that was detected and because I was started and then stopped on antibiotics I ended up with a super infection of whatever I had because it was really bad. I literally couldn't swallow anything for days because it was the worst pain I ever had and went without eating and barely drank anything. I also had insanely high fevers that entire time.
Anyways, sorry for going off topic. To try and help your throat you should try gargling with some salt water. Also, take tylenol, it will help with the fever and with the pain. Try to avoid anything that contains asprin as it's bad for your liver I believe. Tylenol is your best bet, but if you can't take that take something with Ibeprofen in it, such as Motrin.
Depending on how bad the pain in your throat is you might be able to get your doctor to give you something better for the pain. When I was sick earlier this month mine gave me a prescription for Tylenol mixed with Codiene to help ease the pain, it did a little for the first few days. Another thing your doctor might give you is a lidocane mouth wash to help numb your throat. You can also buy sprays and lozenges that contain things to numb your throat.
The best thing you can do is try and rest. Also, don't move too much because if you move a lot and attempt to do some sort of physical activity such as sport(which I doubt you will do anyways but apparently in 2002 someone won an Olympic gold medal while having mono o.O) you risk rupturing your spleen.
I hope I was able to help at least a little, being sick is horrible, and that you get better soon! |
