Hollywood characters are excessively glamourised and aren't really role models for real life. They are designed to showcase America, not unlike what you see in commercials. You expect bangs when you buy into it and may not even find the sparks.
For example military agents don't drive sophisticated Aston Martins, don't wear Gucci overcoats, don't sleep around with the prettiest women, don't get 'license to kill' and neither do they transfer classified files via satellite networks in high speed TGV trains. It is all fantasy and glamour with little to no reality.
