Money: 250,131 My Mood: Points: 271,543, Level: 100 | | Spam PM Policy I want to bring this to your attention that some members of the forum and trolls are misusing our Private Messaging System (PMs) to spam and advertise their services, products, websites or forums. This is completely unacceptable according to Teen Hut's Policy, specially as they are doing it without the permission of the site or any scrutiny that the sites/products/services are safe. In some cases, they use offers like giving their MSN and asking members to talk to them there to advertise what they want.
It has happen in the past and might happen once again. Trolls tend to bribe people to join their forums and offer incentives that they will make you moderators as soon as you join but instead they take your emails, IP address and put your personal details out in public which can be really harmful for you.
If you come across any such cases, I invite you to report these instances by forwarding the PMs to me or any of the moderators. We will take action and if it is legitimate, the reporter will be rewarded with 500 points OR 250 reputation points OR special PM and forum privileges. You will choose what you want from our list of choices and your help in managing this forum will be considered for future forum decisions.
As for people who spam PMs with their offers without the permission of this site, you will get more than you ask for. As you have violated our Terms of Service and Forum Rules, we will make public your emails and other information you use in such PMs. They will be send to Yahoo, Google and other sites as spammers to be blacklisted.

You mentioned about msn , does this mean we cannot send our msn addresses though pm's? even though we have no intention of advertising because a lot of people like to keep it private and only give it out to certain people. |

You can, why not. But if you send your msn, they add you, and you start advertising your products asking to buy and do this to many people, that is not allowed

But if a member feels that they got a spam MSN offer after a conversation, they can report it. Like salespeople, paedophiles or just people advertising their sites. Quote:

You can tell it in the first few conversations if a person is interested in you as a friend or as a potential customer/member of a site.

Yeh 'cos the majority of people will bother to report won't they? I don't see that happening, well not unless it's a user who doesn't coem on/post very often, as you MAY have noticed people can be very loyal to others here.
Just saying that if i was offered an advertisement i'd just delete them and move on... I really wouldn't bother to report them because I wouldn't feel it was necessary, but it may help to catch people who are doing it, i don't know the statistics on that so I can't comment really.
Oh and we used to get advertisements from Agent Elrond, does this mean it's stopping now? |

But if they come again later, those advertisements will have official permissions. Like you read above, advertising without any permissions is not allowed. Hope it is cleared.

Perhaps they thought with all these dramas and crying how this forum sucks, they'll create enough resentment to generate potential members for their site. But well, it doesn't work that way because there are a lot of people who are clever and experienced enough to understand what is a drama and what is a genuine dissent. Dramatists have a goal or purpose and it comes out soon. For example - the recent case where some people wanted more members for their site and using these tactics as a 'recruitment of members' as they word it.
This forum and the staff have seen it all, through a span of over two years. If it really sucked and everyone was horrid, then they'd have been the ones with half a million posts, thousands of active members and three years of existence online, not this one. Common sense is common only among people who figure this logic. Quote:

But there are enough intelligent people and loyal members who will help us and help this site. We can count on them. Quote:

If you notices, this site costs quite a lot to run, with its size and thousands of visits a day. So the advertisers who pay for it have their right to reimburse their costs. Just like a sport channel that broadcasts a football match needs to make money by advertising.
