A few days back we changed something. From now on, infractions will eat your points. The amount of infraction points you get is multiplied by 1000, and that amount is deducted from your total points. This is a fair enough punishment for all those naughty users.

This happened a week or two ago, not when you got infracted. The VIP thing also started before you, not with you. So don't make assumptions.

Sounds reasonable. So like.
Do the points get eaten away when you're given the infraction and that's only then or do they eat away the points until the infraction expires?

The points thats taken away is permanent. It doesnt get readded if the infraction expires or reversed.

No no, I mean like.
When a user gets an infraction they lose points, right. Is that the only time they lose points for one infraction or does their points continue to deduct until that certain infraction has expired.

As soon as the infraction is handed, points deduct for the infraction, and then its back to usual like now.

Here's another idea: how about reputation too?
1,000 * infraction points deducted from reputation.
Or split it.
500 * infraction points deducted for both points and reputation points. ;)
Edit: By the way, I noticed I can no longer donate points anymore. What's up with that? :/
