Money: 8,835 Points: 30,000, Level: 42 | | My dog :( My 11 year old miniature daschund tore her ACL. The surgery is like 2,000 dollars and we can't afford it, so it has to heal back by itself. This is the first time any of my aminals have been hurt.
Animal stories, anyone?

Just be glad you don't have 3 blind dogs, three with arthritis, one that has seizures, one that has ulcers and a dog with dog agression issues. Sep 5th we had to put down my first childhood dog because she was blind, deaf, cancer, ulcers and had an eye condition that we couldn't treat.

Were they inbred or just have a really bad bloodline? Are they all the same breed or what?

We don't know how, it was walking in the kitchen, we were in the dining room, we heard a yelp, we went out, and she was dragging her back legs. We had to have a 2,000 buck surgery on it. It died 2 years later of kidney failure.

The night before he got put down he was staying in my room and he just kept on meowing in pain, it was horrible. The next day after school when dad came home without him was really sad (Although we did suggest we'd plant a tree for him which our other cat could pee on in his memory ) and I was so upset for a long time.
Got two cats and two dogs now though. Milly (Who was the other cat at the time), Bertie (Fat, Portland, 5 toed beast of a cat), Buffy (Evil dog) and Corky (Gaseous dog).
They are awesome, but I miss Basilikus De Pomme Pomme Head (Full name )

It'd cost about 2,000 to repair her ACL completely and at the time, our financial situation just.. wouldn't even let us buy a bag of peanuts much less do that. Quote:

It was super cold out and there was someone at the house next door, looking at it(it's vacant), she started barking, didn't whimper, yelp or anything.. he picked her back up, brought her in and she started limping. Wouldn't put her leg down, nothin'. No one is sure how it happened.

But anyways, right now since we moved in with this guy Ross, he has two Schnauzers. One is blind and has diabetes. It's soooo sad. All he does is stand around and he has trouble finding his way back in through the doggy door. :[ |

The only real risk is that she might keep re-injuring it, but she's not an active dog. At 11 years old, she's more of the type to lay around and sleep and maybe greet you at the door. Other than that, she's not the run, jump, play type.
