Grrr... stupid trains.

I was all happy a minute ago, I thought, "hey, I could catch a train down to southampton to see my friend" but then I looked on the national rail website and the cheapest single ticket was around £52 (Let me put this into perspective if you don't know GBP this is around $100)! 52 stupid pounds. How can I afford such extortinate prices? Yeah I can get a young persons rail card that gives me a 1/3 off all fares but that itself costs £24! Why oh why are British rail prices so expensive?

Now I'm going to have to wait until the Summer when he can drive up here and get me

Don't worry German ones are too....terrible pricing..wanted to go to the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany last year. There was a special train going there, which took 5 hours to get there from where I was and cost me €60,- that's about £40,- if I'm correct. But since that was fully booked, I had to take the regular trains, guess what, it would take me twice as much time too get there and it would cost me €225,-/£150,-.......crazy....but that's not all, Dutch trains have that too, last year I paid €9,20 for a back-forth ticket to amsterdam, now i pay €18,30, and just because those damn trains drive on time. That was the condition on which the traincompany could raise their prices

yeah the trains here just raised their prices.. they're not that expensive but it's still a biatch.

train tickets here are cheap. thats because the trains are SO OLD. haha

It's just so annoying. There have been protests lately. Our government needs to step in and do something. They want us to use public transport then they can bloody well make it accesible to their citizens! Sorry, I'm just annoyed now

mm they are pretty expensive, how about going by coach, are they cheaper? and I know the airport near me flies to other British airports, so you could do that too, if it's possible.

I've never been on a train. But I guess it's probably pretty expensive here too.

I've never been on a train as well... I don't believe there is train transit around here, tho trains aren't unheard of.

Pffft. I can't afford to go anywhere.
I was looking into going to Montreal for March Break with a bunch of people...but I can't even afford the teo way ticket which is 197.40. I'm too poooooooor.
...but maybe I'll scrounge some change

Here trains run extremely slow but very cheap lol

Try a flight. Easyjet gives good prices for example, about 20 pounds for a ticket from London Stanstead to Aberdeen.
