In QLD apparently 98% of people who do it outside Brisbane pass on their first go, while only 33% in the city pass on the first go 
Just be calm, collected and don't get agro at the other cars on the road and be weary, the examiners want you to fail and will pick hard situations to put you in to test your ability.

when you reverse remember to keep both hands on teh wheels.
check your mirrors first. and put seat belt on first.
when your making a left turn make sure to go to the middle of the road first and then turn your wheel.
when changing lanes, check your middle mirrors and then look over your shoulder.
stop for at least 3 seconds at the stop signs.
when parking dont' make excessive manuevers and don't hit the curb. Remember your allowed a foot, and a foot is a lot of space for error.
when making the broken u turn remember to signal.
Act like your nervous and be nice to the instructor
If you act like you know too much they'll fail you on principle | |

Don't slam on the breaks when approaching a motorway... my brother couldn't merge and apparently he just stopped in the merge lane. = fail
And then make sure you have control of the vehicle. The 2nd time my brother failed was because he was going around a corner and the examiner thought they were gonna have a head on collision so he grabbed the wheel. = fail
The third time my brother failed was because he got aggro at a car that cut him off without indicating so he lost all sense of control and drove straight through a red light. = fail
The fourth time he reversed too far back and hit a pole. = fail
5th time lucky.

One thing that happened in my test was when my instructor said "take the third exit", i thought i had taken the second... so always make sure you know where to go.
