Vista is far, far, far easier to fix if you screw it up. It's packed full of repairability (I sense a new word!) side by side with xp there is no comparison. If you break xp you're pretty much done for.. system restore in xp.. a joke. With or without the cd vista can fix its self about 85% of the time should a boot up fail or a critical error of some sort occure. All you need do is run startup repair or chkdsk which is scan disk and poof good as new. While it's no time machine (osx leapord) it's plenty more capable then xp eye candy aside. |

XP is still nice, but its 7 years old. I wanted to update.

Seriously... What ever you had.. Must of been the basic.. Cause that does suck.. But out of all honesty.. Ever since I got Vista I had to learn it slightly with it's different layout and I know loads about it, there has been some issues but because I was willing to fix them and not strop about it (Which you may have done, which can be understandable) I fixed the problems and it works like a charm for me and I think Vista rules... Way better than XP...

It's much better than Vista in terms of stability as well as system resources usage.... I think Vista is just a bunch of stupid visual effects that require one hell of a good machine, at a very high price (unless you want the basic edition, which has less features than a gameboy).
Plus, you can enjoy all the Vista eye candy by installing a vista theme on your xp system for FREE!!

Plus the "Free Vista Skin" is like not the full vista and like, I think it's crap. I prefer Vista way more than I do XP now.

I haven't really used a Vista machine much (since my comp runs on Xp) so, I can really tell about the more sophisticated features (I haven't heard of any but anyway...)
As for the "Vista SKin" I'm using an addon which has pretty much all of the features of the vista interface and is free..
