Mac or Windows?

My apologies if this has been asked before.

I'm at the stage now of needing 2 new computers: Desktop and laptop/notebook. What are the advantages of a MacBook Pro and a Mac Pro Desktop as against conventional Windows operating system (Like Vista or Windows 7)?

I've no clue as to how a Mac performs as against a Windows' computer. So any advice would be well appreciated. Thank you.

I used my friends MAC laptop and I have been using windows forever and I wasnt a fan of MAC.... But I havent used MAC for like months or years so I cant answer more than that.

Don't buy an Apple Notebook. They're overpriced.

(Someone is bound to bring up "BUT WINDOWS GETS VIRUSES", so: Unless you don't have common sense or an anti-virus, you won't get any viruses.)

I wish to use it for media/movie and editing my Hi-Def recordings from a Canon camcorder. Also, using accounting software for work and general writing.

And no, I'm "not back".

To be perfectly honest, even though I've never in my life used a Mac, let alone actually checked it out like I have with the new Windows 7. I have to admit Windows is everything you can every want mainly because it's the most used OS; well in a standard home. Plus like someone said, it isn't overpriced as Apples are. (Lol, Apples.) But yeah, I'd always go for Windows even for what you want to do because ou can easily get it upgraded and stuff and its much more cheaper.

If that's what you're using if for, then go with Windows. There are so many more choices of software for you than Mac, and you'll be able to get more space on your computer for less money.

You'll want to spend some money on decent software for what you're doing, though, which can get rather pricey.

Window's basically sucks. I know I'm sounding pretty negative here, but it's true. It's awful. Vista is awful. XP is awful. Just so shitty and choppy, I hate it.

Now, Windows is trying to copy Macintosh by making their company "Clean and User Friendly", when Mac has always won that battle.

Go with a Mac. Not matter what. You won't regret it, I promise you.

Not really... Macs are nice... But PCs are more useful, and really, how many people do you know that own a mac, but not a PC, and if they don't own a PC, I bet they use one at work, because they can't use a mac right?

Macs are nice for designing, and art-y stuff... PC is for more of everything else, like they aren't as bad as they are played out to be
