i dont know if he likes me. please help

im 15 and i have a crush on this guy, he's either 16 or 17. he's on the varsity football team and i just started v. cheerleading this year. he knows im a cheerleader because he saw me one time in his class when i went to ask my cheer coach something because she was his teacher for science. so when i saw him in the hall way ( the day of the game) i asked him if he knew what time the game started and he answered really politely. he seem to be stare at me while i was asking him even though i was too nervous to look at him when im talking. then after school that day when i was with my friends, he was staring at me. and everytime when i see him in the hall ways and the game we always stare at each other. or sometimes when i catch him staring at me he looks away. he doesnt talk to me or anything he doesnt even know my name... vise versa. i honestly think he's way out of my league. i really like him but i dont know if he's staring at me because he thinks im staring at him or if he's staring at me because he likes me. because he usually dont look away when i make eye contacts with him in the halls ways passing each other but at the games when he turns around and sees me staring at him he turns right back. can you please help mee
