Valentines day...

Whats the point of valentines day? Some would say to show you love someone, but shouldnt you do that everyday?
For me the only thing about valentines day is it reminds of everyone of how lonely they are... Seeing every couple being all couple-ish and then you tell yourself " wow I dont have that" It hurts.. Im pretty sure its supposed to be a happy holiday but to me iot seems to make alot more people sad than happy. I dont like valnetines day... its corporate bullshit tot seel hallmark cards...

I agree. Its pretty pointless... when your in a relationship, Vday isn't really anything special... since its probably not gonna be the best day in your relationship. Its just the fact that you feel like you need to buy something and I agree its just a big gimmick and a big money making thing.

Never had a gf on valentines day, it makes me laugh seeing all my freinds panacking about what there gonna get there gf but then I don't have that bother. Love should be like that everyday, not just valentines.

And yes I do get extremely depressed

yep as its coming closer i feel like wow i do want a guy who says he loves me on valentines day but i know that isnt gonna happen

i do think it is pointless and i share my love with my bf EVERYDAY and i get him gifts randomly but i do get him a gift on vday as well and "Celebrate" it but i basically do wahat we do everyday
but it just in the spirit of the "holidaY"

Yeah, Valentine's Day is only good if you are actually in a relationship. I am single.
I spend my day watching Disney movies and eating cheap Wal-Mart chocolates.. suits me okay, I guess.

well... that day is hell when youre single. the whole point of it is that it's a day for lovers and stuff, or would be lovers.

I dont think much of it either, then again im single and if i wasnt im sure id be thinking differently about it.

and my Japanophile side wishes it was more the Japanese Valentines day, ergo, the girl gives chocolate to the boy she likes , if he accepts her choclate, then he accepts her love, but if he does, he must get something in return on White Day (March 14th). [tho i doubt it would catch on over here-pity]

I like March 14th, but for a different reason lol.

This is the 2nd year that I will be with someone on Valentine's Day as February 14th will also be 1 year and 5 months that me and my boyfriend have been together. We didn't even see each other on the day last year and won't this year either because I'll be out of town, it's okay though because I don't care for Valentine's Day and it overshadows a better day. The reason I like March 14th is because last year it marked 6 months for us being together and this year it will be a year and a half together.

For me, yeah valentines day is great if you have a girlfriend/boyfriend, but if you dont, it doesnt make a difference. single people will feel lonely anyways methinks.
I want to confess my love to this guy i like before valentines day. but wouldnt it suck to get rejected like on valentines day? haha
