Best friend's ex?

Ookay so my friend was in a serious 9 month relationship with a boy (lets call him mark). And through her, Mark and I became friends. So things got rough with my friend and Mark, and they broke up about a month ago. Wellll I have always had a little crush on Mark but he was obvi waay off limits. But now they are officially over and have been for a while. She broke up with him. And lately we've been talking. And his friend (Joe) told me that Mark likes me. Hmmmm. Is he completely off limits now too? She is a GOOD friend of mine.

Re: Best friend's ex?

I always stick to the book of friends law, which is never to go for a past boyfriend ogf your friends. It's just a no go, especially if they were serious. It just makes things arquard and it causes friction.

However if she is the person that won't mind, I think it'd be best to confide in her that you like him, before going ahead with him in any case. If you want to go for it then yea go for it, it depends where your loyalties lie and what kind of friend you have.

Re: Best friend's ex?

i was in something like that when my friend bf dump her and he started liking me and i thought that was wrong to do and he told me that me and her are over so i whent for it. Bad idea to listen to him all that came out was me looseing my friend and it was crazy and stressful their was so much darma. So if this person mean enough to might loose a friend he is not worth it but i agree with the first user with friend rule. Talk to your friend 1st Remember: Boyfriend come and go but bestfriend last forever

Re: Best friend's ex?

I would say just talk to your friend..If shes a true friend than she would appreicate that you have came to her and asked her before anything happens.

Re: Best friend's ex?

Don't do it, if you two did hook up and you three met up which is inevitable that would be awkward and could cause gripes.

Re: Best friend's ex?

I was in a relationship with someone for 9months his name was Blake and one of my friends named becky we used to go to her house all the time and hot tub and stuff after 9 months me and Blake broke up well 2 days after that he was going out with becky. I was upset and hurt. But I wouldn't get mad if one of my friends dated my ex now cuz I have realized that its not worth stressing over.
I agree with everybody talk to your friend about it and see how she feels

Re: Best friend's ex?

I definately wouldn't hang out with him without talking to her first... but the question is whether or not I even want to go there. Sigh.

I've never heard of anything like that. Why would he be off limits? They've broken up.

Re: Best friend's ex?

I decided not to. I told him today that maybe another place another time it would have worked but given the circumstances I just wouldn't feel right about it. We'll still be friends.
