I was sitting in the lobby of my school reading a book. And this guy came up to me and asked me what I was reading and said oh my friend's reading that is it good. and then he recommended a book he was reading to me. Then he asked me my name and said he had seen me around school. and he told me his name and then he smiled and said well ill see yah around then
I know he could be interested in the book but he already knew what it was about
Was he just being friendly?
or could it be something more?
Guys would you do that to a girl you weren't interested in?
Sounds like he's interested to me, but its too early to tell. He could just be a really sociable person, with alot of confidence.
From being a guy though, and hanging out with them my entire life, i have learned we are very shallow creatures, and it would be quite rare for a guy to approach a girl he didn't find attractive for no reason atall (one that he didn't know)...
so yea, i think your in ; )

There is one way to find out what his intent was! Hunt him down and ask him! Say, "Hey I enjoyed your brief visit the other day! Can we talk somemore?" He sure won't say no!
Yep, he's interested. Like boy17 said, go and talk to him. Unless I was interested I wouldn't go and randomly talk to someone I didn't know about a book probably.

Come on now lovely....Use your women intuition. Would a guy approach a girl whom he's never associated with if wasn't interested? Men will never approach a girl they're not interested in, that just makes no sense!
He likes you (at least superficially or what he knows of you). Give him the go-ahead signal!
There's nothing that can be assumed from that interaction. Anyone will often go up to people for no other reason than friendly conversation. However, it is rare that a person will be friendly with someone who they aren't attracted to on at least a subtle level. So, there's always the possibility he is interested in you or could eventually be if you just be his friend for a while, which is probably the best option, but from what you've said here, one has no basis to assume anything whatsoever. People like to talk, and they often do it for no reason.
