The title doesn't really explain what this post is about entirely.
Basically: I have one friend in the world. He lives out of town and I don't see him often at all, but over the last few years when I am at his house, me and his neighbor (a girl about my age) have been kind of flirting. Nothing has ever really happened between us because it's awkward because my friend absolutely hates her, and because we sometimes go months without seeing each other. I know she likes me though.
Because I've never been close to a girl, I really enjoy my time around my friend's neighbor (who comes to his house whenever I'm there, if possible) but I'm thinking about trying to avoid her this summer when I start seeing my friend more often. Because next year, I'm going out of home schooling and going into 10th grade at the public high school, where I think I'll meet way more people and become more social, and most importantly...I'll be able to see the people who I meet at school way more often than I see my friend's neighbor, which will allow real relationships to form.
So, because I have absolutely no experience with relationships, I decided to make my first post here about this, asking for advice
Sorry for the long post so far. Here's what it boils down to: should I avoid being around or flirting with my friend's neighbor who I'll start seeing more of in summer time (at the beach with my friend and at my friend's house) because I'm probably going to meet tons of new people at summer school/normal school in the fall, to avoid awkwardness? My whole family and my whole friend's family + his neighbor's family knows that this girl likes me and it's kind of embarrassing when they make comments on it and when I talk to her around my friend even though he hates her, so it would seem like it'd be better if I just kind of avoided her from now on (without hurting her feelings).
Wow guys I know this is a really long post for a really stupid issue, but I tend to overthink things a LOT. I just don't know how to act around girls because of not having a girlfriend before and I'm hoping for the best when school starts
