Ok most of my friends have dated at least one guy and one of them has had MANY bf's. but ive still never had a boyfriend. I kno im really shy around guys but thts just how i am an general. im starting to think that there is something wrong wit me.

Ok...i'm a little older (19), so maybe i look for different things.

I would say someone who's fun to be around. Not necessarily OVERLY confident (as this can be a bit offputting to shy guys), but be a bit comfortable to talk and to have a laugh.

If you're fun to be around, then a (potential) boyfriend is gonna wanna spend time with you. Which is the whole point of dating.

So, yeah; personality is a major factor to me.

And a smile goes a long way as well

Be a leader. Not a follower. The fact that it's so common for people in your school to date since 5th grade is no reason for you to do it if you don't want to.

In ancient Greece, thousands of years ago, it was common for women to marry at 13. And it was common for them to marry guys twice their age. What if you were in such a society - does that mean you should marry a guy (or have sex with) just because everyone else does? Even if you didn't want to?

I think the problem is, you want to do things just to "fit in." But you don't have to.
