I'm on my local recreational swim team that runs through the summer, april-august. there's a several cute guys on it, but one that i'm particularly interested in.
here's a little about him. he the same age as me:13, but next year he's going into 9th grade and i'm going into 8th. he's a bit shorter than me. i'm 5'6'', and im guessing he's about 5'3'' or 5'4''. he's definetly one of the more "fit" guys on the team. he's tan, but he doesn't fake-n-bake. it's a real tan

he's also single, which is a good thing, lol.
ok, so i first started talking to him at our swim meet this past saturday, June 28. i hung out with him and a few other friends from the team at their tent. we played card games like Speed and BS (you should know what that stands for and if you don't, don't ask me.) He was constantly smiling at me throughout the whole meet that day. i would often catch him (out of the corner of my eye) staring at me. sometimes i'd look back and smile shyly; he'd do the same & then nervously look away. i think i heard him cheering for me while i was swimming one of my events, but i'm not sure. yes, we did actually talk, and just about random stuff like school, swimming, and just random conversational stuff. i wanted to exchange phone numbers but i never quite got the chance.
later that night, we had a team barbecue, where he was there. now, we didn't talk at the barbecue, as i was with my set of friends and he was with his, BUT...i did catch him staring at me often throughout the night. a LOT. (maybe it was because this was a
swim party/barbecue and i was in a bikini, but who knows?) i'd look back and smile; he'd do the usual smile shyly and nervously look away. **i didn't get his phone number here, either.**
i've seen him around my school before but he IS one grade ahead of me, so i havent seem him much besides swim team events.
one of my close friends says we'd make a good couple.....
do you think he likes me back, he doesn't, or not sure? how should i should i approach the cellphone # exchange situation that has yet to happen??? should i talk to him more, or should i just let that be a one-time thing? would it help if i swam in his lane during practice once in a while, or should i just stay in the one i always practice in?
please answer my questions as best as you can. any other other advice is greatly appreciated
thanks in advance,
