I need your advice/Boys and Girls

ok well i have a crush on this guy in my religion, and i met him and we talked a decent amount. Anyway he lives along way away, although he sometimes comes to our state when there is a social event on.
I added him on facebook obviously, coz were friends and he accepted.
I think he doesn't like me, coz he doesnt know me that well, but should i like talk to him on facebook? I'v always just thought that who commented on my facebook that i didn't really know was awkward in a way, and you were just replying to be nice.
But i really want to talk to him, and get to know him more, and for him to want to.
Do you know what i mean, i don't want to be making all the first steps.
I'm painfully aware that people online have alot more confidence than in person, that's not me however i have great friends..
What do you guys think.
Boys do you find it annoying?
Girls should i make the first move, even if i think he doesn't think of me that way, is there a way that i can get to know him without being annoying?

Guys do not enjoy long distance relationships, and we always expect the woman to take the first steps as we think the girl is more important.

In my advice, get to know him - but I wouldn't engage in a online relationship.

^^^ you already answered your own question!
talk to him
you can control what you do but you can't control him! so just talk to him and if doesnt reply back then move on
if he doesn't like you then it ok b/c you'd be seeing him once every time you have a 'convention'
the best thing to do is to just be friends with him b/c since you live far away from each other then most likely nothing will happen

i do not mean to discourage you i am just being the voice of common sense
and i don't think its annoying that a person is talking to me and if you don't do something then nothing will happen!!! so take the 'pluinge' and TALK TO HIM!!!

yes i get what you mean, but with these "conventions" as you put it, all my friends are in relationships like that. They take trips flying down and vica versa. He said he wants to move up here anyway...
