Rape is Worse Than Murder

Yesterday while talking to a friend, she said she honestly believed that rape is worse than murder.

I can't say I agree 100% with the statement, but I can definitely understand why someone would think that way. I have never been raped, and I don't personally know anyone who has, but from simply my surroundings I can see the word "rape" is thrown around carelessly, and joked about endlessly. And when you ask someone to stop joking about it, 90% of the time they look at you like you're insane and say you're being too sensitive.

I don't feel too strong about this case, because it was really only brought up yesterday but I was wondering if anyone else does.

Of course murder is worse than rape. People who are raped can recover at least. Those who are murdered lie in a coffin forever (That's assuming the body is even found or has a proper burial).

Recovering from rape cannot be as easy as we make it out to be.

Constant jokes, victim shaming, rape culture, many states in the U.S having little or no access to emergency contraception or abortion, some cases where the rapist is known to the victim... Some cases can be fixed with some time in therapy but some cannot.

Your remains could just be a bunch of arms, legs and guts rotting at the deep end of a flithy pond, and its very possible that no one finds out who murdered you (Very unfair right?) If you asked me, I'd rather get raped then meet that ugly fate some people get.

I definitely agree that murder is worse. You can recover from rape, and even if you never actually fully recover you're still living and have to ability to do things and think. With murder, it takes away everything from you, leaving you with no opportunity of anything besides death. The only thing I think could be worse than murder would be like long-term sadistic torture.

Yeah you would be surprised how many different methods that have been developed simply to inflict pain on other humans.

Medieval Torture... One of the most shocking things I looked into recently.

Rape is just a bit below murder in terms of cruelty and destitute. A murdered nvr get another chance to return to his/her normal self, a rape victim hadly does, rape victims sometimes suffer psychological trauma 4 d rest of their life. Their thought,speech and actions could be negatively affected.

You know what? Neg rep me all you want. But I think rape is worse than murder. Just for the sole reason that at least once you die, the pain ends (at least I believe so), you never feel anything, you don't regret not living your life because there is nothing. It's over. Rape is remembered all of the victim's life. Many rape victims blame themselves for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, which is outlandishly false. One would live with pain and constant societal reminders of the miserable nightmare they experienced.
