From my point of veiw in england to have legal sex is 16 but that isnt right in itself i ask these questions are you old enough to care for a child can you buy a house at this age to care for a child to give a home what about a decent job this all connects with sex at 16 because they're are saying we are mature enough to be parents i think is really wrong we are not.

But sex has no limit now it doesnt matter what the law says you'll do it at 14 if you could but you will regret it when your pregnant or have a STD or whatever.

I don't know what to think of this but i go against at this 110% and im happy bringing my veiws to the table want to share yours?

Not everyone who has sex has a baby. Not everyone who gets pregnant keeps the baby.
Not everyone who has a baby needs to buy a house straight off.
Not everyone who has sex ends up with an STD.

LondonSloany, I mean no offence but your stance sounds like you think sex is a dangerous and necessary evil just to have a baby.

Getting pregnant is a either matter of choice or a matter of stupidity/carelessness. The former is acceptable, otherwise we wouldn't be here to discuss this. As for the latter, if adequate measures are taken to prevent pregnancy, it will be close to 100% effective. Sex can occur in the heat of the moment but a baby shouldn't occur by accident. Just because someone is 'mature' doesn't mean one is ready to have a baby, unless the relationship is firm and both partners are sure they want one. Even 30 year old financially secure people who 6 houses may still be not ready enough to have a baby.

Its fine if you believe teen sex is wrong but not everyone sees it that way. Teens are not inherently silly, the stupid ones won't stop being stupid even if they are 30. You just have to look at the 30 year old arabs who act like 13 when they see a girl wearing anything less than a burka.

We were sixteen when me and my first girlfriend started having sex, we knew what it was and we used our heads to ensure things don't go wrong. Leaving out first time (which was I admit, a bit silly), we took protection every time after that. We could do it when we were that young, I can't see any reasons why others can't do the same.

A negative attitude towards sex creates more problems than the puritanists claim it solves. Making it wrong or illegal for teens to have sex or stopping them from doing so wouldn't make them better equipped to handle it. It would end up negatively - teen pregnancy, porn addiction, sexual perversion and the like. Sex can't be blamed for every problem that crops up from mistaken social priorities. Most of the sex offenders aren't ones who are happy with their sex life or confident of their sexuality.

Oh no, it looks like we are agreeing again Kuntisky. Surely it is down to the individual whether they are mature enough. Nobody says you have to have sex at 16. How would you enforce an older limit...Chasity belts? Besides some teenage moms can still have a succesful career and still make great parents, they just have to work harder and grow up quicker.
