hey, i'm 17 and have been gothic for years now, i'm an expectant dad but don't know if people will pick on my kid if i'm gothic, i'm not crazy gothic but i do loves me my trpp pants and black long sleeve shirts, please post i need infotanks!
He knows he is a goth at heart, it's seems though he cares more about his kids well-being than his own! I would say go at it slowly either way you choose. Don't all of a sudden fill your closet up with polos and khakis. It really won't make that big a difference! If you feel to weird dressing up different, then keep it the way you like it
My only suggestion here is just to watch your dress around other small children. Say you're taking your child to school and you walk them to class. Certain clothing wore mainly by Goths simply scares small children. Chains are something a variety of groups wear, and I know for a fact that they scare the daylights out of kids. That goes for skaters, emos, and a bunch of other groups as well.
In any case, you're probably giving your kid and advantage, if you really think about it.
My suggestion is let your kid do what he/she wants to do. Don't force him to be goth, let him figure out his own thing. What may be good for you may not be right for him.
Just because you're gothic or whatever, doesn't mean your child will be picked on. It's more likely, but not guranteed. Kids will find any thing to insult eachother, and almost never know how bad it hurts them. Just watch how you dress around little kids. Be considerate of other parents too, don't be like some of the parents around here that wear shirts that say "I FUCK NUNS" or something across the back.

just be who u are, dnt change for your kid, like trichinosis said, u just need to raise him so it wont bother him and so he is strong enough to handle it, i mean kids get picked on all the time, so even if u do change they may find something else to pick on him 4.
so yeah being a goth shouldnt affect your child too much, so stay the same.
