Re: End of the world?

This is strange that you mention "nonexistent being" when you are all about what "Satan" (also a nonexistent being, by your own definition) stands for? What's really funny is that there are documented accounts of Jesus' existance, while there are none of Satan! If you tell us that Satan is proven due to the existance of the Bible (where the idea of Satan stems from) then you prove yourself wrong on that very same account.

Re: End of the world?

Dude. I stated in about three other threads. I am an athiest. I don't believe in any form of being. Except myself. I do believe that Jesus existed but not the son of "god"

Re: End of the world?

If any of you are actually interested in when the world will end, I would suggest looking up information on the year 2012.

"2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or apocalypse). Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.
Accordingly, several eclectic authors claim that a major, world-changing event will take place in 2012:
  • The 1995 book The Mayan Prophecies linked the Maya calendar with long-period sunspot cycles.
  • The book 2012: Mayan Year of Destiny claims the Maya may have been instructed in their wisdom by disembodied entities from Orion and the Pleiades. Contact was maintained through shamanic rituals conducted in accordance with the movements of planets and stars. However, some Mayan priests living and working in Guatemala assert that there is no legitimacy to this theory.
  • The 1997 book The Bible Code claims that, according to certain algorithms of the Bible Code, a meteor, asteroid or comet will collide with the Earth.
  • The book The Nostradamus Code speaks of a series of natural disasters caused by a comet (possibly as above) that will allow the third Antichrist to disperse his troops around the globe under the guise of aid in preparation for a possible nuclear war, although in the strictest sense it is unspecific as to nuclear war or some other natural or man caused destruction.
  • The book The Orion Prophecy claims that the Earth's magnetic field will reverse.
  • The 2005 book Beyond 2012: Catastrophe or Ecstasy by Geoff Stray reviews several theories, prophecies and predictions concerning 2012 and finds where authors have used faulty information or have bent the truth to fit their theories.
  • The 2006 book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck discusses theories of a possible global awakening to psychic connection by the year 2012, creating a noosphere.
  • The 2007 book Apocalypse 2012: A Scientific Investigation into Civilization's End by Lawrence Joseph does not make any specific new predictions, but it reviews a number of 2012 predictions made by various sources, and presents arguments for the possible existence of dangerous positive feedback loops involving solar storms, Earth's magnetic field, cosmic rays, hurricanes, global warming, earthquakes, and supervolcanoes that may be on the verge of erupting.
Other prophecies and apocalyptic writings and hypotheses for this year include:
  • Terence Mckenna's numerological novelty theory suggests a point of singularity in which humankind will go through a great shift in consciousness.
  • Some proponents of a peak oil catastrophe place major events in 2012. Richard C. Duncan's book The Peak of World Oil Production and the Road To The Olduvai Gorge claims that the Olduvai cliff will begin and permanent blackouts will occur worldwide. Several studies predict a peak in oil production in or around 2012"
- Wikipedia

Just some information for anyone interested. If there will be an apocalypse or anything like it, it will be in 4 years from now.

Most things to take note of are Terence Mckenna's novelty theory, the Mayan calendar and Nostradamus. Theres also a lot of astrological data to back it up.

Note: This is just some vague information from wikipedia, but any of the subjects you see are a good place to start investigating yourself.

The Mayans say that it is just the end of the calender, and not the world.

If 2012 is the end of the world then likely as not it'll come about from the sudden chaos that is brought about when everyone realises the London Olympics aren't prepared yet :P

Americans will be irked and their president in a moment of going berserk, launch a Minuteman at Vladivostok. This will put a red alert, the civil defence mechanism is Moscow, St. Petersburg and Vladivostok will be put into motion to protect the civilians. The Satans and Topols will be let loose on America, resulting into 2000 nuke warheads wiping off the 'god-blessed' America clean of humans. US submarines in the Pacific will retaliate by a full arsenal Trident attack taking out 1/5th of Russia. The whole war and the multi megaton nuclear blast will create a geological and climate change. The earth will freeze and there won't be any machines (a la Matrix) to save the humans from extinction due to ionisation or starvation. Thus the world will end of the viral human beings.

Highly unlikely though, no one will be that mad.

As for that I think that the way things are going, it'll be World War III.
If anything happens at all that is, I'm an atheist and don't believe in any God like form (mainly thanks to science), and this sounds religious.

Bush may be stupid but he is not a lunatic to go on a suicidal attack on Russia. Heck, even a third world military powers like China and North Korea scare them now, every year the American senators are forced to go through 500+ page DoD review of China's nuclear and military developments.

Knowing some of the American members here, I won't put your theory out if they become president. Considering stupidity is considered a talent is US, I won't be surprised if one of them becomes a president.
