Gay Children characters
Well, I made a thread about Albus Dumbledoor being gay, and I was wondering, Do you agree, disagree, or don't care if characters in childrens books are gay?
I don't care really, What is wrong with it?

Re: Gay Children characters
Why not?
There are people like that (including me) in the world.
That's like asking if they should put African-Americans in children books. ;P

Of course there's a difference. Yet both are common in society.
To not include homosexuals would be to not represent an entire group of people.

I think maggot nailed ya on this one.
I mean, come on, did you even read the books, or for that matter watch the movies?
What, so if Dumbledore was straight and was helping out a girl, we would assume that Dumbledore wanted to rape her? Please.

I agree. Besides maybe by developing more gay characters for children's books, some of the homophobia so prevalent in our society will be some what alleviated for the next generation at least.
