The swastika. Where do you stand?
I want to know how people here feel about the swastika & how it has been symbolized the past 50 some years to be a nazi symbol. In all originality the swastika was used as a symbol of many religions dating back before christian times. The swastika was also used as a good luck symbol for aviators & generally meant "well-being/unity." Seeing as how I know many people with different opinions on the subject, I want to know what you guys think.
Give me your input, but please, be respectful about it.
We are not here to fight.

Re: The swastika. Where do you stand?
To me, I don't look a lot into symbols. I look into the original meaning of the symbol, but not the symbol itself. If I see a swastika, it doesn't alarm me or anything.

It doesn't bother me, to be honest.

Re: The swastika. Where do you stand?
It doesn't mean anything to me. Unless I see a skinhead walking around with it on a shirt or similar. That makes me want to kick someone.

Re: The swastika. Where do you stand?
There was already a thread about this. But I guess my answer is pretty obvious considering I have an in-your-face Swastika as my avatar.

You made some people desensitized to it now, good for you.

Re: The swastika. Where do you stand?
I had to do an assignment on a theme from the novella Night. I chose Nazism, mostly because I knew everyone else was writing about concentration camps. I learned that the swastika is not the devil- just a sign turned a certain way, meaning a certain thing to the Nazis.
I, honestly, couldn't care less about it.

Re: The swastika. Where do you stand?
I wish more people around here understood it like that.
If someone here sees something that remotely resembles a swastika, they're all like, "OMG NAZI! ARE YOU RACIST?" :/
So many closed-minded people here...
