Love?
well, im new here, this is my 2nd post, 1st thread. just spent 30mins odd searching the net for a forum where i can post something i wrote. basically its a bit of writing of my thoughts on love and the things surrounding love.
here it is:-
Love is not an emotion.
It doesnt bring happiness, and it doesnt feel right.
Its a disease, a human disease thats so common its considered the "norm".
When someone falls in love, its a happy time, but only if the feelings are returned.
If they're not, your lower than low, you hit rock bottom, and you want to die.
Some even do of their own accord.
Why is love perscieved to be a wonderious thing then, if it is not?
Even the lucky few, who fall in love with each other, when it ends, and believe me, it will end, what are they left with?
Hate? Resentment? Depression? All of the strongest negative emotions possible, and once again, some die of their own accord.
Others pull through, forget about it, and do it again?
This is the cycle im talking about, the one love controls, not a person.
A person cant just think "ooh i will fall in love with him/her" it just happens.
Why cant we stop it?
Maybe not everyone wants to, but there are quite a few who would like to.
Those who have their love rejected, im pretty sure they would rather irradicate the feeling from themselves rather than let it stay, enducing worser emotions and infringing on their every day life.
Some have a degree of control, not on whether they fall in love or not, but how strong the concious feeling is.
How do they do that?
They've learnt to, from past experiences, like myself, with each occurance of "love" i find myself less inclined to let it take its toll.
Some say this is silly, let love guide you and all that b*llox.
Personally its for the better, if your less prepared for success your more prepared for defeat.
This doesnt mean dont try by any means, give it your all, act on the feelings, but be careful its you controlling them, not the other way round.
Thats what ive always thought anyhow.
Well this would have to be the end to my little rant.
Its not my thoughts in their entirety i ensure you, theres much more, but to write it down would take to long, and confuse both myself, and probably readers.
P.S: This isnt ment to give answers, its supposed to give the questions to your mind, think about some of the question ive posed, and then think of the millions of answers to them, maybe there is no real answer to the question, "What is love and how does it come about?" maybe theirs just different points of veiw... hmmm even as im writing that, its got my mind workin.
---
i was just sitting here thinking and thought i would write it down, what do you all think of this? anyone disagree?
Scott.

Re: Love?
I voted for depression because I think you notice love more when all you see around you is depression and that one person makes all the difference to you, and you can both work through it together. To me that is love, when you are with someone who understands that the world isnt perfect, but feels the same way as you do. Love is whatever you want it to be.

Re: Love?
I forgot to say that I think I understand what you mean by some of those questions. I felt exactly the same way a year ago when my world fell apart.
But I do believe that everyone can find love if they believe in love.
Not every love ends before we die.
Love may die, as we do, but who knows what happens after that? I would like to believe there was something much more after this.
If I dont stop writing now, I'll never get my sociology work done! hehe....

Re: Love?
I thought you writings were incredible. I guess it depends on how you see things, imo love is neither happiness or depression it is it's own state of being. It is neither black nor white it is grey. If it is true love then it is a combination of every emotion known to all of humanity.

Re: Love?
It doesn't always end. There's old couples who die of old age without it ending. Some have died at the same time and some remained happy because they knew they'd be with their beloved shortly. You just need to find the right person. So I say happiness.

Re: Love?
Love is imaginary. Only people with mental problems claim to feel it.

In that case, you parents had mental problems too, if they loved each other. But I wouldn't go into too much assumptions as there are also other not-so-pleasant-sounding possibilities which might sound too insensitive.

Actually, both of my parents hated each other & had severe mental problems.
Edit: Whoever originally posted the quote in your signature probably wasn't American, the way he/she spelled 'masturbate' is the spelling used in Australia & the U.K.

I am sorry to hear that and I am glad that I made the right decision and didn't type it which I nearly did. Perhaps my 6th or 7th sense kicked in.

It is unfortunate for you that Vessol is actually an American. Sad but true and I wonder if some Americans really believe that I would start changing my views about them if they come from other forums baited by my topics and behave like this.

Nothing to be sorry about, but thanks for not being rude or anything. I really don't let it bother me much, I can take a joke about my parents as well as the next guy lol.

Hm =/ maybe they just weren't sure how to spell masturbate properly, or had seen it spelled in that way by someone else & assumed it to be correct.

No worries. I am not rude until and unless someone is rude to me and there is no reason I should be rude to you...not yet.
I can take a joke about pretty much everything and still keep my cool good enough to retort with something that really works up the person. I am mean and cruel but only to those who try their 'qualities' on me.

Perhaps or maybe they were too worked up and drunk to put things properly. You have to look at Vessols post after that and see the shocking difference. I know Vessol will make a hype about my signature and his supporters will cry out about it, totally oblivious to his own signature. I know the trend very well.
