If this is in reference to me, I used that phrase because that is what they are trying to do.
They want people to think like them.
Anyone who disagrees with them is "going to hell."

Umm well today i was down the park kicking the soccer ball at the goals and i got swarmed by like 4 guys trying to get me to sign up to receive a free bible and they read my passages and stuff. It took like 15min and i was to nice to say fuck off.
there is a point when people shouldn't be so 'forward' but at the same time,
and speaking religiously, i'm not a religious person, however, i have found
/some/ good ways of thinking from religions, however, there is just so much
i just don't agree with... anyways i got off topic a little but if you take
a look at america (if you live here) you know that our country is very
divided, and alot of people are left in the dark about what's really going
on in the world, the government lies to us, the media lies to us, it's hard
to find the truth in ANY form of mainstream media or news, so people
are having to be "forward" with presenting how they believe in order to
pull people together in unified purpose and reason... however the bible
thing that alex is talking about, that's messed up... it's like he's trying to
preach to him outside of church... he should have just said "hey this is who
we are, this is what we're about, if you have any questions or concerns
you're always welcome to come to our church or w/e and if you would
rather take it upon yourself to find the answers you can sign up for a free
bible" instead of all the stuff it sounds like he put him though...
I am going to say this straight up to everyone...
Mainstream Religion, Television, News, Media... = BRAINWASHING TOOLS
If you want to know the truth about anything you gotta dig.

"Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted."
Let that quote go to BOTH sides. So many people that are getting preached to jump on the "don't shove it down my throat" defense way before the conversation even turns in that direction. I've witnessed harmless discussion and explanation of belief systems(whether religious, moralistic, or ethics, etc) in which one person will freak out using that phrase when there was no need.
I've also witnessed christians time and time again plea how everyone will hate them simply because they are christian, which I think is bull. They won't hate you only because of your beliefs, however, they may disagree. (Well, for the majority of people.)
Basically, in some cases many people are too defensive and throw those words of "shoving beliefs down their throat" around like crazy. However, I do agree with teh concept that you cannot force another person to believe anything. However, everyone has the right to speak and to discuss. For example, I am a christian and many here know this. There are some members that HATE that I'm a christian, however I still have the right to give my own personal advice. I do not push my beliefs, I simply give my own advice. If they do not wish to take it, that is there choice. There is nothing more I can do. You share it iwth them once, if they don't like it, you don't keep pushing it over and over on that same person. It doesn't help. I wish more christians, and more of everyone, would learn that.
