Re: Question
Well, regardless of the situation, here's the basic problem: is a human stranger or a beloved pet more valuable to you?
I would choose the human because a human provides more value to the world at large than does a pet to me personally.
I'm guessing several people would choose the pet because they don't highly value human strangers.
I think it's a question of personal values and not of ethics or religion.

Re: Question
Ok, let's think abuot situation like this:
Person X is an adult. He or She /doesnt matter/ doesnt have any family, any friends, but she/he has a woderful dog, who is always with her/him and they ove each other, the dog is real frend to her/him. And one day, the flat house she/he lives in i on fire. You have to choose to save either the dog or the stranger who came in and maybe is lost or whatever.
I would choose the pet.

Re: Question
The Human, 9/10.. Unless it was manhoe on the line, and then, I'm sorry, but the cat is worth more. I won't get any less sleep at night knowing someone died. Because people are going to die anyway. ( So are pets but at least they're in your life)

Re: Question
Devil's advocate question: where is the line (or does it exist) between neglecting to save a life and taking that life? Is neglecting to save somebody in an emergency situation murder?

Re: Question
Damn...that is a tough question. But I would go for the human...as much as I hate to say it, humans are more important than pets. I love animals though, so I would be so sad if it came to that decision .

I would save the manhoe but make him my indentured servant.
