Size 0 - Good or Bad??
Okay.
This topic may seem a little biased, but that is where your opinions and comments come in, isn't it.
Sorry it is so long. Mostly me rambling about it being bad but if you read it, I would appreciate it and also if you had your say after about what you think.
I honestly think that Size 0 should be renamed Death.
I feel that it is honestly ridiculous how some celebrities compete against each other to be the skinniest (Posh & Ginger Spice - a prime example).
This is the media pushing down hard on this size.
Size 0 is also bein run in the fashion industry and sent to places like TopShop and other big named retailers. Which means more pressure on teenagers to be thin and get into these clothes.
These can be to blame for the dramatic increase of skeletal teens trying to fit in and be like their desired celebrities. But then again, can media and fashion industries be to blame? Surely it is the teenagers themselves who want and desire to be Size 0.
I think not. Many of these teenagers feel pressured by fashion and the media. Music stars are often really skinny (Nelly Furtado) and many music artists, mostly rap, have skinny/skeletal girls dancing around them. So many music videos portray these skeletal girls to get everything they want. But this is not the case.
Many teenagers are being hypnotised into thinking that if they are Size 0, they are pretty and can get everything they want. But what if this doesn't happen? They get skinner and become walking skeletons. There have been so many cases to dead girls AND boys who worked hard to become so skinny that their body couldn't cope and gave up trying to survive.
What many of these teenagers need to learn is that skinny doesn't necessarily mean beauty. There is a fine line between pretty slim and ghastly slim.
Suprisingly, when asked, many of these girls do it for popularity, to get boyfriends, even for friends. And I think that these reasons are something to be ashamed of as they are pretty pathetic.
I have read magazines that promote being skinny and I often feel that there is only one person out there trying to change our perseption about the way we look. We don't have to be skinny to be beautiful. BIG is beautiful and I, for one, praise Gok Wan and his programme - How To Look Good Naked.
Many boys, that have been asked, before curvy girls, those that are clothing sizes 12 - 20. Many of you reading this would think "OMG" but many do like larger curvier women because those that are skinny are often too skinny because they do not know the limits.
I despise Size 0. Teenagers should be proud of the body that they have and shouldn't try to be skinnier than what they should be. We are all beautiful and despite the bullying we may recieve for being curvy - we can look at them and laugh because we will be the first to be truely happy.
We should accept ourselves for who we are! Life will be simpler once we do that. And this is what teenagers need to learn.
Thankyou for reading this - sorry I blabbed for so long. Comments?

Re: Size 0 - Good or Bad??
BAD.
Anyone who thinks size 0 is attractive has something wrong with them.
And as for shops selling size 0,that should def not be allowed.
It makes it seem like it's ok.
I also have always thought that about really big sizes for fat people.
If it was really hard for them to get clothes maybe they would be more motivated to lose a bit of fucking weight!
Oh and I love Gok Wan.

Re: Size 0 - Good or Bad??
I know what you mean about the larger generation.
There is a fine line before it is too fat.
The thing is everyone used to be between the two perfect weights. So no-one was too fat and no-one was too skinny.
I blame media, fashion and magazines for the far-too-skinny and blame the fast-food industries and chains for the far-too-fat.

Re: Size 0 - Good or Bad??
Well there are some girls that are natural size 0? Like small girls like hheartstrongg.
One of my guy friend could actually wear size 0 girl pants, and he's like my height.. about 5'8''. I go like, "What the fuck are you doing." Haha.
Yeah, but for me, I don't really like to feel all bone when I hug someone.

Why? So that girls who wear that size can't find clothes?
It is possible to wear a size 0 and still be healthy.
In pants I wear a 0 or a 1, depending, and I'm not unhealthy. I also don't starve myself to be that size, I just don't have hips or a butt really. I probably eat more than the majority of girls who weigh more than me, I'm eating right now actually, but I have a very fast metabolism and I'm quite active.
Most younger teenagers will probably be around that size as well because typically you gain weight as you get older and your body begins to develop more. I'm not a younger teenager, I'm on the older spectrum of teenagers, and my body has developed, but as stated before I have small hips and a fast metabolism.
I'm not unhealthy just because I can fit into pants of a size 0 or 1, anyone who would look at me would most likely think that I am healthy and probably think that I weigh more than I do, because well, I am healthy.
Obviously not every girl who wears a size 0 is naturally that skin, but that's usually more likely in taller and older females, such as some fashion models. However, not all models are a size 0(typically a 2 or a 4), and a lot actually are at healthy weights for the their heights. A lot of models are under 18 as well and still developing so for them being at a small size would be naturally.
However, the ones that do starve themselves or do other things to stay skinny do not send a positive message.
Edit- oh and a size 0 probably isn't as small as you may think it is, because of vanity sizing what's now known as a 0 is actually bigger than it is. Vanity sizing has clothes marked down a few sizes smaller than what they really are.
Edit 2- As for the comment about a 0 being child size, I really do take offense to that in a way. As stated earlier pants wise I wear a 0 or 1, but I still have curves. I actually probably have a more womanly shape and curvier body than most females my age, even the ones who are larger than me.

Re: Size 0 - Good or Bad??
I don't think that there should be so much emphasis on people to be size 0's. It's inhumane and immoral, in a way.
The media is doing a really good job at promoting this downsizing of self-esteem...

That's a good post...
Anyways, yeah... I can be a 1/0 at certain stores, and yet a 5 in another. So obviously some 0's have been made bigger than you think.
AND, some people are just small. Like, i wouldn't say I'm skinny AT ALL. But people think that a lot just because I have a small frame I guess you could say. Which is why I can fit into smaller sizes.

Re: Size 0 - Good or Bad??
Like I said, I posted this for a reason - to get other people's opinions.
onyxeyes does have a good point. And I am glad that there is a good range of views.
However I still do not like the aspect of the media and fashion industries putting pressure onto teenagers to stay this thin forever.
Yes - I know it is their choice to be that thin, but in most cases it is down to pressure.
Victoria Beckham is far too thin, but I just finished reading something about her and she hates it because after children - she is now has really saggy skin, and she complains that she has no bum. She dislikes her feet from wearing high heels all of the time.
Anyway... keep your opinions coming!
