End of the world?

Alright. I'm getting just a bit annoyed here. I've been hearing a lot of talk about Obama and how he may be the anti christ and how the world is coming to an end. People think that just because Obama is for abortion and such [yes, i'm against abortion] they think, Oh! "He must be the anti christ". I may be wrong but aren't people not suppose to suspect the anti christ and most people are suppose to like him?

And people think that just because of all these earthquakes and funky weather has been happening that it's a warning and the world is coming to an end. There have been several major disasters in the past and people thought the world was going to end then too but it didn't. I don't want anyone to get mad at me because of this, because it's just my opinion, but I think people are just being paranoid and unrealistic.

And another thing, people are talking about all these murders that have been happening (at least i've been hearing about it). Things like this have been happening FOREVER. And people think if more people had god in their life there would be less violence. I agree with that in part. BUT...there are some people who are mental and just don't care if there is a god or not and will murder anyway. I don't think people act the way they do because of the absense of god in their life, I think they act they way they do because they simply don't care.

And I know tons of you will have different opinions, and I am willing to listen to your side and respect your opinion and try to understand where you're coming from even if I don't agree. I want to know your opinions so please speak your mind.

If global warming is really happening (and I believe it is) then yes, this is the beginning of the end of the world. Or at least a human dominated one.

I'm not worried about the end of the world. By the time global warming gets into full swing and weather conditions get more and more extreme I believe you, me and everyone else on this forum will be long gone.

Re: End of the world?

obamas not the anti-christ. thats just the republicans praying on peoples christian beleifs
abortion gives us the right to choose.
i find it deeply annoying that we protest about civil liberties in countries all over the world, and yet we campaign to the governemts of free countries to take away our rights and choices?
i persoanlly think we're just hearing more about disasters than before.
the olypmics in china mean more people are focusing there more
the rise of the internet and more mobile internet means we hear more.

in the past what happened.
-christians went and invaded the "holy lands" and killed millions, and died in their millions. so religion has killed enough peopl
-what about all those people who kill based on religious prejudice
-what about all the jews persucted during the ww2 by the nazis, and then sent to camps and killed in numbers near 7million

its simply not the end of the world. we're gonna be finished of by a man made event. mark my words

Err, people -do- like Obama.

The earth has been around for a long time. If a natural disaster happened back then and nothing happened now it still doesn't mean that it can't happen. And how are people being unrealistic? The world's gonna end one day, who's to say it won't be soon?

I agree that people act the way they do because they don't care, but I disagree with the god thing, mainly because I don't believe in God. you can have non-violent people that don't believe in god, and violent people that do.

Anyone who actually believes Obama (or anyone, for that matter) is the Anti-Christ needs to phase themselves out of society, and really fast. He's just a man, nothing more. If he wins the election he becomes President, which is nothing more than a designation. A farcry from the Anti-Christ.

Who the hell are these people? There have been major disasters since the Earth formed 4.5 billion years ago. It just so happens we're around to see them. The Earth will do whatever it pleases regardless of who's in power of a nation, another man-made idea. I'm pretty sure tectonic plates don't give a rodent's rear about which nation is affected from an earthquake or volcano.

As for the weather... it too has been changing since the Earth was formed. The Earth is not a dormant thing; it's very active and ever changing. And of course the planet is heating up - we're just coming off another ice age. The planet warms and cools. It's what it does.

Again, who are these people? And "having God" will not end violence on any level. If you read history you'll realize God is one of the leading causes of death.

Thanks. I feel so much better now.

There will never be an "end of the world". Not in the conventional sense. The only way for our planet to end is when the Sun goes supernova. Then the planet will physically not exist. Aside from that, it will remain here and will not end. Human reign, on the other hand, is very limited, but that's another discussion altogether.

The planet is fine. The people are fucked.

1st of all, obama isn't "for abortion" he is pro-choice. there is a huge difference and don't bring up all those Bible verses that say i'm going to hell because i'm pro-choice and believe in gay marriage.

2. that video is amazing
