I heard it would end on 12/21/12. Well not exactly end but the magnetic poles of the earth will switch on winter solistice that year. We are late 400,000 years and some scientists say the year would be that year. If you google 2012 a lot of stuff about the end of the world will come up, about 5 pages.

Nothing is going to happen, because it's just like another Y2K prediction. There is no evidence to back it up.

The U.S. Dollar & 2012

Raymond Mardyk decodes the Great Seal of America, which appears on every dollar bill. This Seal shows a 13-step pyramid with 1776 in Roman numerals. The pyramid of Kukulkcan has 91 steps on each of the 4 sides, making 364 in all. The top gives the number 365. The Great Seal pyramid also has an encoded meaning using the date of the Gregorian calendar, 4 sides of 13 levels giving 52, the number of weeks in our year.

However, 13 and 52 are the key numbers in the Mayan calendar. In the Great Cycle, there are 13 baktuns of 20 katuns each; each katun consists of 20 tuns, so there are 5200 tuns in the Great Cycle. There are also 52 haabs in a Calendar Round. 1776 was not only the year that the Declaration of Independence was signed, but was also a special year in the Mayan calendar. Just as the last katun in the Great Cycle is “katun 2012”, the first katun in the cycle of 13 was “katun 1776”. In fact, the katun ended 33 days before the signing. So 1776 is the bottom level of the pyramid, where the date is actually inscribed – the top of the pyramid is therefore 2012.

The top would also be 2012 if each level represented one of the 13 baktuns in the Great Cycle, with 3114 BC at the bottom. The top of the Great Seal pyramid shows an eye-in-triangle, which has been associated with Sirius, God, the pineal gland, and the Illuminati. Mardyks goes on to point out that not only was the Egyptian calendar based on the rising of Sirius, but that “the Sun is astrologically conjunct Sirius every year on July 4, for the birthday of the United States of America”.

Finally LaViolette (he of the Superwave theory) has also found a 13,000 year cycle in symbology that fits the Great Seal pyramid on the dollar bill (with each level as 1,000 years and still have 2012 on the top).

Nostradamus' predictions and the mayan calendar are not evidence at all of anything.

Nostradamus' predictions in general are quite vague and could be interpreted in many ways.

why would you believe the mayans' predictions over anyone else's? it makes no sense.what makes their prediction so special? And Dec 12, 2012 is not even the end of the world according to the Mayans, it is simply the beginning of a "new cycle". That does not necessarily mean the end of the world.

Otherwise, they thought the end of the world was going to be on New Year's of 2000. Then I heard on Christmas of this year, and now December 12th of 2012?

What do they say will happen? And how do they know?

There are many theories about things that could possibly happen, I've long since spent time researching this 2012 doomsday theory, and here's what I've come up with.

In 1987 NASA had a press release about "Planet X" which was a large celestial body discovered in the outer reaches of our solar system. They were unable to find out anymore about it due to do the distance. Then nothing more came from NASA about the object.

The doomsayers tell us that "Planet X" is actually a dwarf star caught in the orbit of our sun. According to them, it makes a pass every 3600 years in our neck of the woods and the results are apparently catastrophic for both bodies. The Sumerian people wrote about a firey ball in the sky that they called "Nibiru". The Doomsayers predict that Nibiru will pass us in 2012, causing massive radiation from the sun, as solar flares would be drawn closer to Earth by Nibiru's gravity, aswell as the gravitational pull on the Earth reversing the poles.

However, there is nothing to fear. Nibiru is a hoax.

Why?

The Doomsayers say that Nibiru is in our solar systems outer orbit, thus closing in on Earth within 4 years. This would have massive effects on the orbits of our outer planets, we aren't seeing it.

Neptune is the brightest object in the night sky. At 3x the size of Earth, Nibiru is 5-10x the size of Earth (according to the Doomsayers) We'd be able to see it. You know what we can't see, Nibiru.

As for the Maya predictions, 2012 is the end of a Mayan Baktun, we switch from 12, to 13. Similar to how we switch from 1999 to 2000. A baktun is a 396 year period. Also, during this time the Milkey Way, goes into an alignement of sorts, the Maya saw this as a "rebirth".

The Maya doomsday theory is merely misconstrued facts.

And if I'm wrong, and Nibiru is coming, it came 3600 years ago, we survived it then. We'll survive it again.
