Paganism/ Wicca - Page 2

I see nothing wrong with it. I'm mixed with the issue of religion, but overall view it as a math problem. When I do that I find its meaningless to contemplate a ton on. Unless its for fun.

I'd describe myself as a Pagan more so then the Roman Catholicism I was born into. Mainly because I admire the old Pagan societies and values far more then I do then Christianity's moralities.

Yet I don't like Wicca. I have only read a little into it, and its not my cup of tea.

Asatru seems more what I'm going for. So does Hinduism. I've been planning on reading into more later.

Golden, how did you become a Wiccan? Any easy way to sum it up for non Wiccans?

I may edit this later, I'm on a time crunch.

I think that task would be extremely hard, how would you say sum up Christianity, Judaism, Islam etc. quickly?

I am most definitely Wiccan, and all I can say is to read a book or join a coven if you want more information. Many teenagers are an unreliable source. They think it's cool, or want to be goth, so they become Wiccan for like 3 months. Or they get in a fight and want to curse their friends. They are in a rabid Witch-craze for a few days, then when they finally get their hands on a book the first thing they see is "The first rule of Wicca is to never hurt anything with magic ever." So they're like, "Fuck this!" and throw the book away. Another teen comes, sees the book on the ground, and the cycle begins anew.....exaggeration, but sprouted from truth.

If you read my post correctly, I said that I'm of the Roman Catholic faith, I'm not Wiccan at all and never said that I became one either. And what exactly am I supposed to sum up for you? Is it my entire post?

The world doesn't revolve around you. The person who started this thread had Golden in their name. I'm referring to them, not you. Golden said "calling us witches" so I can assume he is Wiccan.

Now on to Tomski.

Christianity, sum it up with the ten commandments. Explain what every good Christian should do and think. I wouldn't touch everything, but maybe say where they would stand on abortion because all life is sacred.

You don't even have to sum it up. I wouldn't mind a big paper either, if you wouldn't mind writing it up.

Or do you know any good websites?

Really anything will do.

You can't sum Christianity up with the Ten Commandments. Jesus has more to do with Christianity than the Ten Commandments do.

I must say that I totally agree...from what I know on Christianity, or what is considered 'true Christianity', there isn't a huge emphasis on just obedience of rules and regulations (10 commandments). However, Jesus is most definitely a big deal.

On to Paganism/Wicca...while I don't necessarily believe their doctrines, I do find it interesting. I think it's important to know a little bit about many belief systems and/or religions, so it would be a good thing to know about.
