Not really a debate or a discussion, more like a small vent....so sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I find it really annoying when you're on somebody's bebo/myspace page and they have;

"I'm not emo/chav/goth etc. so don't label me!"

"I don't care what you label me! I know I'm not a emo/chav/goth etc."

or something =/

A) Maybe we didn't even think you were one of those until we seen that on you're page =/ so you're just making it look worse for yourself.

B) If you think somebody is going to label you an emo [for example] then you obviously think you're emo to start with =/

C) If you label yourself you obviously label other people....so why do you think other people will stop labeling you if you will not stop labeling yourself?

D) If being labeled and shizz really doesn't bother you then why have you got it on you're page?

I think diversity by beleif happens; my school is a good example. We have the rednecks, the emos, the preps, and the goths. Its not really a horrible situation; when people "hang out" mostly with thoose of similar beleif, arguments are less commen. So long as theese groups interact on occasion, all is safe. Perhaps the most open (as well as large) group at my school is the Rednecks.

Haha, i totally agree. I hate it when people say "I dont label" or something like that because you DO label, and everyone else does too. its natural to want to size someone up and put them in a catagory and see where they compare to you. Everyone labels, everyone IS labeled.
Like me! I'm considered a stoner-hippy... When i was in school, i hung out with everyone, but stoners like to stick together, just like every other group.

I bet you anything that they label people everyday. There's no way around it.

why would these people piss you off? All they are saying is not to label them because they are more than just a label. Or that they act differently and are not always in the same mood. They just want to be able to be cool with everyone and not stick to one group. That pisses you off?

ohhh I get it, the mofo is contradicting themself by labeling chavs and emos and goths, they are just saying they are not one.
