can honestly say im over my depression :)

for the past 2 or 3 weeks ive generally been in a good mood, and not once have i contemplated suicide or felt genuinely depressed. im not really sure how i did it or what happened, but i managed to do it with any meds or therapy, just a single good friend to be there for me...but in the end, i think it was just a little redirecting of my thoughts.

ANYWAYS, i just wanted to put that out there. to all of you that feel depressed, remember that you can rise above it! i cant speak for everybody, but it was all in my head. hang in there everybody, things will get better. i was fully depressed for about a year or so, and ive finally risen above it.

Well congratulations, that's very good to hear

. Sometimes depression comes and goes, and a lot of times it goes without the use of medication. Medication can sometimes be necessary, but some people with depression can just adapt and conquer it naturally. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those people, but I have bipolar so it's a little different for me.

I'm really happy for you. Just remember that you can't cure depression, you can only suppress it which it seems you have done and that's great to here, dude.

That's great. It's true that it cannot be cured, however you are obviously having a positive mind and have gradually learned to control/overcome a lot of it, which is amazing.

congrats!!! i think im on that track... just wayyyy far at the beginning. ive still got some things to work out but i know i can get there. good luck with everything and what a great friend you must have to stand by your side.

yea, thats what one of the first things i realized i was doing that was contributing to my depression. i was seeking sympathy and feeling bad for myself, although i didnt realize it

That's fine though, as long as you are really trying to push yourself through it and act positively. I never sit thinking like that then not do anything about the problem, but i feel that way you did sometimes, but as i said, the good thing is you didn't give up to push through.
