Ehh see I was thinking about becoming a freelance writer too (journalism, screenwriting, both I loved and thought were fair game). My guidance counselor though kept insisting that I should pick a job that's guaranteed to have a steady financial inflow and the closest thing I came up with was a teacher (summers off too!
It's not as if I regret the direction I've taken either, 'cause I'm genuinely anxious to become one (even despite some stuttering) and already was considering it for a while even if freelancing may have been at the forefront.
You may want to think about it yourself. Of course if you feel strongly enough about it and want to be courageous and take the risk, I mean, definitely go for it sister!
