With no scholarships, and barely any money, I was pretty restricted to going to a local university. I wanted to dorm, but can't afford it. My friend got it in my head that college isn't college without dorming, and I think he may be right. Dorming would be so cool with all those people. Instead after class, I'll be going home to my shit house with my shit everything? How am I gonna meet people? Party? This sucks. |

Many people are looking to make friends as soon as they start college, and many of them won't be living in dorms. You'll find tons of people in exactly the same boat as you (including not having very much money). You can meet people at parties, or even simply become familiar with people that are in a few of your classes.
Maybe it's different there, but I know very few people who have stayed in dorms, and most that have done it only do it for a year or two before moving out and living in an actual house to finish off their degree. |

Assuming you even find a job that pays what you're expecting. |

Assuming you even find a job that pays what you're expecting. | If there's something you want to do and the only way to do it is to take further education, pay is irrelevant. |
