Now this is damn gay. I am pissed off now. :eek:

So in the last few weeks we have been presenting our english sell-a-book speeches, and we can present any novel we like but we have to say why we recommend it, and what other books would also be of interest.

Well I chose a book called "No Gun for Asmir", a fictional book based on a refugee family during the Bosnian war who escape Sarajevo etc.

The task also meant we had to have a powerpoint, a speech that engages the audience and we have to explain why they should read the book with good arguments, and speak for 4min30 -5min30.

I made a good powerpoint and interesting speech, I had my mum and my teacher check it and they said it was good, I practiced it a lot, and had a lot of bits where I engage the audience etc.

On the presentation day I did it and it went off without a hitch. However due to the fact that they needed to have the orals cross marked by 2 teachers, we had 2 english classes in different auditoriums doing the speeches infront of 2 teachers (so we basically see double the orals. real boring.). On our day, we were meant to have our teacher and another teacher from the other class (the teachers rotate) however our teacher was away so we had another english teacher step in to mark it, and he is known as a hard marker but he was waay to hard on me.

I got my mark back today, expecting a B+, but instead I got a C+, and the comments were horrible:
Lachlan appeared nervous during his speech, making it hard to hear for members at the back of the audience. His oral was of a satisfactory standard, with vaguely corresponding points etc. etc. more shit comments

I asked other people who were in the back row (in the row infront of the teachers) and they said they could hear it perfectly...?

I know I could have got a better mark had this horrid asshole not stepped in for my teacher, and of course the other teacher wanted to give me a B, he wanted to give a C-, so they compromised at a C+.

But what mega pisses me off is this real dickhead from comes on stage, has no powerpoint, doesnt even have the book on him (so we have no idea what book he is even doing), does a shit 3min speech, but it made everyone laugh it was so shit, and the teacher gave him a B-. How is that fair? How it is that some shithead does no work or preparation, does a shit speech, yet does better than someone who put in a decent effort?

This really sucks, I am really annoyed. I got like B+'s and A-'s for other english tasks, and this C+, as well as the B- that same asshole teacher gave me for the essay we did 3 weeks ago (it was marked by other teachers too), means I'll probably get a B- overall. How fucking gay.

Makes me wonder why I even try if some dick can do nothing and get better results.

Can't you ask the teacher about it? If you explain that you got marked down for non-requirements and explain that it seems a bit confusing that the kid who didn't meet the requirements gets a higher grade, you could get the teacher to bump you up at least to a B-.

I'm not sure about this teacher, but even a lot of harder teachers that I have had are willing to work with students about their grades if they see that the student wants to make an effort.

My day just got worse. I also got a C+ in my modern history knowledge exam...
