Favourite guitarists
Simple, who is your favourite guitarist?
Mine is Buckethead, mainly for his ridiculously crazy solos, the emotion in his songs, and the sheer randomness and strange behaviour.

Re: Favourite guitarists
I think the best albums are probably Crime Slunk Scene, Pepper's Ghost and Cuckoo Clocks From Hell. These, in my opinion have the best guitar-ish tracks.
I would recommend most his albums, as they are all so different, so it's hard to choose some over others.
However be careful with Bucketheadland, Bucketheadland 2 and Giant Robot, as they are very strange and you will love them or hate them.

Re: Favourite guitarists
Cool, thanks. I've been meaning to buy The Big Eyeball in the Sky ('cause of Les Claypool's presense) for a while but I might try one of the solo albums you mentioned instead. :] Ta.

Re: Favourite guitarists
Either M. Ward, St. Vincent (if you see her live, you will understand. AMAZING) or Elliott Smith

Re: Favourite guitarists
Yeah Synister Gates is a bit of a modern cliche "favourite guitarist"
I like A7X, but I doubt he can hold his own as a solo performer

Re: Favourite guitarists
Yeah I picked him because I can't think of anyone else. He does write nice solos and stuff, and I believe that guitarists like him are meant to be in a band anyway. So, agreed on you with the statement that he can't make it solo, unlike people like buckethead etc.
