The movies were terrible compared to the books.
I liked the books because the idea really appealed to me. Especially New Moon, because I'd been in Bella's situation (sort of).
But in my honest opinion, Stephanie Meyer isn't that good of a writer. I have a whole love/hate relationship with Twilight.

The Twilight series is basically the same forbidden love story, that has been done so many times since Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet.

The series wasn't horrible. But it wasnt amazing either. Bella and Edward have some serious insecurities that they need to go to therapy for. The book is dysfunctional and if you like that type of thing than go ahead and read it.

The only reason why most teens like this series is because its in their age group and they can relate to it. They reason why some adults like it is because they are still little teen girls or they like it because at least the children are reading again

The movie was horrible and im glad i didnt spend money on it and was able to see it for free.

If it was for Taylor Lautner's body the 140 million they made on opening weekend probably would've stayed that way.

why feel ashamed? It's a classic for a reason, it's not like you're the only one to love the story. I enjoy Shakespeare a lot and this is one of my favourite pieces by him. Don't feel ashamed.

Well rather, I USED to feel ashamed. It didn't match my reputation to like such a romance but I've cared less for what people think I am over time.
I like the story and other odd things. It's what makes me, me. Not to mention I've fallen in love with Shakespeare since then because he's inspired a lot of my writings, or future writings.

HAh! my ex girlfriend dragged me into theatres to watch this. . I didnt have to pay so I didnt complain but.. DAMN the acting is pretty bad. Even my drama class could do better than this piece of.. and vampires sparkling in sunlight.. damn.. seriously.. I guess the author was trying to be original,, but damn.. ugh.
I did enjoy the movie though haha,, i watched the 2nd one on the computer with a friend, and I guess it wasn't bad.. but then again, i was REALLY bored at that time.. so anything would've done good

Well, I've only watched "Twilight", and I didn't read it. I can't say anything about the book, but the film is awful. First of all, why so many girls love Robert Pattison? I think he looks ugly >_< Just look at he's features! I don't see anything beautiful. Well, okay, appearance is not the main thing. I was dissapointed with actors' playing, and special effects. Edward didn't look like a vampire, just like a boy with an unhealthy complexion and cheap lenses. Bella's look did not vary in a current of the film. And it made me feel bored. I couldn't have watched this film till the end, because it was really BORING.
The coolest vampire of all times is Dracula, and all fan girls should accept it someday ^_^

And, if you think about it, what if Edward was ugly? The entire series wouldn't even exist. If it were a particularly hideous man stalking Bella, it wouldn't be "love". The girls might actually see the shallowness between all of the characters and their "romances".
