An Excellent Workout-- try it

Just wanted to be helpful in case you guys are stuck on ideas for workouts. There's this one I'm doing, it's freaking amazing.

What you have to do, is get a tire. Any tire will do. Then, pick a place in your backyard that is open and not in the middle of everything. Then, fill up the tire (the middle) with sand. Finally, get a sledgehammer, and hammer away. Remember to alternate which hands are where, and make sure you are swinging it right. A few sets of these will work out your whole body.

I remember hearing about some famous boxer doing it. Just something to look into.

What you need to do is get yourself a tire that weighs a few hundred pounds so you can flip and other stuff like that.

That's a workout "used" by many fighters (MMA fighters)... At least, that's what they do when the cam is recording them

@ 0.15

I never tried it, actually, and even though it's probably a good exercise, i daresay that many of the people in that (and other) video use a sledgehammer only while being recorded... Otherwise, they just lift, lift and lift
Anyway, since you already tried it, what are the main muscles involved? I mean, it looks to me like it's mainly a cardio exercise, and well, it also improves your grip (so your forearm), but, apart from that, I don't see many other muscles involved!

Arms, shoulders, back, abdomen, legs. If you do the swinging motion right, it works out everything.

Yeah, of course many muscles are involved, but there's not a focus on any of them..
I mean, if you do bench press, you can expect to involve many different muscles, but the ones you're focusing on are the pecs: i guess it's the same here, right?

If you use proper technique its works your core more than anything else

I'd say it may work explosiveness more than anything.
