Re: Anaemia

Obviously it's easy to tell when someone is pale, unless they have an originally pale complexion. I never said that it wasn't easy to tell if someone is pale. All I said is that it's ridiculous to let your doctor tell YOU when YOU'RE tired. Any doctor can look at someone and say "Well, you don't look tired." Only you know if you're truly tired. Tired isn't just a look. It's a feeling.

Re: Anaemia

Yes, it can be hard to tell if someones just not had much sleep, unless their eyes are simply showing it.
But im referring to being ill, i hardly miss it myself when a person is pale and drawn, its noticeable when they have this type of illness, obviously or the doctor wouldnt have said i didnt look aneamic.

Re: Anaemia

I dont mean always no.

I cant explain tbh.

Well as an example, there was a girl on the jeremy kyle show once, she was on drugs. The guy said to her *you look drawn* lethargic etc, therefore theres obviously a typical lethargic look to an anaemic person until its treated. Or im guessing so.
Well unless a person is naturally pale skinned, if someones looking pale thats an obvious symptom of something right?

Re: Anaemia

ohh.
Well. My friends got the same thing in her family.
I'd defiently get it checked if I were you, just to be safe right? ASK for a blood test or something instead of just getting a visual test, I mean, it'll help in the long run, right?
But yeah. My friend Dani has like period floods. If she doesn't know it's coming and it just hits, her pants are soaked through in like five minutes. It's sad
and she's pretty pale. and when she gets a cut it pretty much takes forever to stop bleeding.
She's prone to head aches too. I don't know if that's a symptom?

Re: Anaemia

Hmm could be.
See i wander whether this is a natural thing with me. Like i said i dont particuarly look pale, im not tired unless i have gone to bed late, which i usually do, all the more so id be tired if i was anaemic? I hardly get headaches and i dont have the problem with cuts etc.

I think maybe its natural for a woman to feel a little drowsy on their period though.

Might be, at least if i do have a slight problem somewhere it would show it, as far as i know blood tests take seconds to do if its just testing for this sort of thing, yeah?

Re: Anaemia

for sure. it's not like they put tubes down your throat or anything, just a simple needle and that's it. I've had them before.
They might make you swallow a pill, then take a blood sample. I'm not sure, they always do something different.

As for results, they'll get back to you usuall within the week.

You could maybe just incorprate a bit more iron into your diet? I know that helps in a lot of areas.

Re: Anaemia

what type of foods have a lot of iron?
see this is what i dont understand, i get these symtoms when i have the period, not after.
Do you think i may not have anaemia if im not feeling drowsy etc always?

I always thought maybe thyroid problems but arent people over weight if they have an underactive thyroid?

I think it will be just a needle, never been afraid of needles, just the blood lol

do you get cold a lot?
that's another symptom.
but honestly we can't diagnose you, if you really wanna know you have to go to a doctor and get blood taken.

Re: Anaemia

If that's the case, then I don't believe you have either of those. But still, going for just a basic blood test can maybe pinpoint something for you. Like maybe you're missing something in your diet? Or maybe it'll turn out you're perfectly healthy and these are just you're bodies persoanl reactions during that time of the month.
