The pill: should i come off this brand?
I was prescribed for cilest nearly two months ago. I've been taking it with luckilly no sickness etc. However i've developed a slight problem since taking the pill, DEPRESSION!!
I'm sure this is mainly why i've been so depressed/down lately. On my pill free week i felt less aggitated and normal (happy), but this week i've been feeling that depressed that i've literally thrown things across the room because of it.
I am really unsure on what to do here, i cannot cope with this worsened depression though. If i come off the pill my periods will be very heavy again
Do you recommend me trying another brand of pill, or what?

Re: The pill: should i come off this brand?
i would recommend seeing your doctor.
you have to make a decision which is worse. your current state of mind, or heavy periods?

Re: The pill: should i come off this brand?
Both!
Heavy periods make me depressed, but these have been making me worse.
Its hard to say. But i have read that some people do have to take about four different brands to find the right one.
I know other pills could do the same, but theres a chance that one might not.
I just cant cope with this sever depression a lot, its affecting problems at home and also problems with others, i never felt this depressed since i went on cilest.

Re: The pill: should i come off this brand?
You probably should try a different brand. I take Seasonique because I have HORRIBLE cramps when I get my period, they were so bad that in June(right before I started taking BC) I had to go to the hospital because I was in so much pain that I couldn't stop throwing up, I was also really cold and having slight convulsions from the pain. It also caused me to pass out.
Since taking Seasonique my periods are a lot lighter and shorter and the cramping isn't as bad during the off week as those pills still contain estrogen so it helps the cramping. Plus, I now only get my period every three months!

Really?
How many months did it take to make them lighter?
Never heard of that brand.

Re: The pill: should i come off this brand?
I've only had two periods since I've been on it since I only get every 3 months. The first period I had since being on it was lighter than my normal ones but a lot.

But dont you have to take them for a longer period of time?
Problem is cannot swallow pills, chewing them makes me feel sick.

Re: The pill: should i come off this brand?
Yeah, you take them for longer, but it would be the same as taking regular ones and just skipping the off week and go to a new pack.
The pills are tiny though, swallowing them with water shouldn't be too difficult of a task. Maybe though, everyone is different.

Re: The pill: should i come off this brand?
Explain to your doctor what is happening, he/she will reccommend a new brand, i don't suggest you pick one yourself because different types are for different people.

Re: The pill: should i come off this brand?
I really am unsure on what to do here.
So ok, i have an appointment with the doctor on friday, but tbh i dont really want to go back on the pill, i dont like what they do inside your body. I know theyre safe but i dunno, i have never really felt right going on the pill, never felt comfy with it. But im unsure on what else there is i can have, but i cant cope with them the way they are each month.
You know the feeling you get when you are against having something.
