Gaining weight

Since 8th grade I pretty much haven't gained a single pound. Okay, well I did gain some weight. I made it up to 87 lbs ... then I got braces and dropped to 84 and I've been stuck there ever since. Last year I was toeing 79 because it was a very high stress year, but I'm back up to my old weight of 84.

Now, here's the thing I want to gain weight but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. My mom says that if I just eat healthy food I'll eventually gain some weight. A doctor of mine recommended taking a multi-vitamin but I'm not even sure what kind I'm supposed ot take, and I'm not too sure if just taking that will help. I've also been told that I should eat more, but my parents are pretty much against it because they don't think I should eat to the point where I'm so full.

So ... anyone know some good ways of gaining weight? I'm wondering if maybe exercise might be a better solution.

Re: Gaining weight

eat alot more. don't eat unhealthy though. eat healthy foods but just eat more than you are now. take a kids multivitamin. start a weightlifting routine and eat a lot of protein. i'd also recommend taking whey protein supplements.

Re: Gaining weight

My main man, I am here to help. =]

In case if you haven't noticed from my pictures, I am a weight trainer and new to bodybuilding.

First and foremost, the best way to gain weight is to workout, I can't stress this enough to you. In eighth grade, I weighed 92 pounds, you need to WORK OUT and gain muscle, look at my pictures. If you are serious, I can create you a workout schedule. The most important aspect to working out is eating, when you workout you break your muscles down, eating helps rebuild them and become larger.

You also need to eat 6-8 times a day, only eat wheat bread rather than white bread. Mornings you should eat oatmeal, it is awesome for you, eat a lot of chicken, pasta, TUNAFISH (You can add mayo), etc. You need to obtain lots of protein and carbohydrates.

There is also a supplement known as Cytogainer, helps you gain weight and gives you protein. Usually you place it in milk and drink it in the morning and immediately after working out, usually twice a day.

Trust me bro, you can do it, look at my pictures, I am also a wrestler, I was where you were one day, if you dedicate yourself, you can become JACKED and RIPPED, you just need both determination and passion.

Re: Gaining weight

Oh my ... I forgot my username is a tad bit on the masculine side. These sound great and all but I'm wondering if it could work for a girl just as well XD I know ... it's not often you hear a girl who wants to gain weight, but ... this one does

I have started with trying to eat more, just working at it a little bit at a time so I don't gain too much too fast. Working out at a gym sounds like a great idea but my mom is kind of against it. In fact, she tells me a lot not to worry about my weight but .... you know, not gaining a thing since 8th grade is a little crazy. Especially since that was almost 6 years ago (I'm going into my second year of college this fall)

So, stil lthe same question only would this work for a girl as well? Or would there be some changes to it?
