And if we wanna get technical, if we don't want toxins, we SHOULD ALL STOP BREATHING.

| Yes but one joint the size of a cigarette is not more healthy than one cigarette. Besides cigarettes have filters while joints do not. also marijuana can become addictive. an argument can also be made that the reason people do not smoke as much marijuana is because it is illegal and they are afraid of being caught. Meanwhile cigarettes are not illegal and are easy to obtain.
Other toxins have nothing to do with the argument about marijuana. we are talking about the harmful toxins that are in marijuana and their effects.
Also the point of trying not to take in toxins is to improve your health. Preventing your breathing can kill you and is therefore detrimental to your health. So it does not make sense to stop breathing in order to stop the inhalation of toxins, because the consequences of preventing breathing are far worse than those of inhaling toxins that are naturally present in the air. On the other hand it does make sense to stop smoking marijuana in order to stop taking in toxins that are detrimental to your health. Also no study i am aware of has ever shown that air as it occurs in nature can kill or harm you.
(BTW stopping your breathing consciously is not possible for more than a few minutes tops because your lungs will automatically and uncontrollably take a breath after a certain amount of time.) |

And the sad thing is more and more people especially teens and kids are beginning to use marijuana while completely ignoring what it does to your brain and body, and how it can cause multiple fatal conditions. And they advertise it to their friends and other teens and kids as being harmless and fun. Disgusting.
Ignorance is bliss I suppose |

Schizophrenia isnt fun.
I'm sure you wouldn't be enjoying your time if you had lung cancer and had to have a lung operation to remove a lung or cut a hole in one.
I'm sure you wouldnt enjoy having emphysema which is a condition that slowly kills you by destroying your lungs. If you have emphysema you have to be hooked up to an oxygen tank at all times to help your breathing until you die of asphyxiation in excruciating pain months later.
Im sure you wouldn't enjoy a stroke or a heart attack,
Or losing your legs and possibly killing someone else in a car accident that was caused by impaired judgement due to being under the influence of marijuana.
All of these things could happen due to marijuana use. Is having a night of fun worth risking these things? If you think yes then i would seriously reconsider if i was you. |

I'm suicidal and I don't give a flying *beep* about all that anyway.
If I'm unlucky shit'll happen and if I'm lucky it won't. That's what it boils down to. |

Money: 1,515 | Re: Weed? But studies have shown that these things happen. It is not really a matter of luck when a controlled scientific experiment showed that they happen to multiple test subjects. Sure you could get "lucky" and not get these effects until later or not as bad as someone else, but they will happen.
Also if you are depressed you should attempt to solve the problems in your life and that includes stop drug use. No problem is unsolvable. IMO you shouldnt turn to drugs to escape your problems but face them head on and try to fix them. As a great martial artist once said,
"The obstacle is the path" |

I'm a social smoker AKA I smoke weed when with friends and it's not like I'm smoking every day, THEN there's a problem. |

Anyway to keep on topic not smoking everyday is good, i know a kid who did for a while and has a hole in his lung now. But some of its effects including increased risk of heart attack and stroke and deteriorated learning and memory are present after one smoking. |

And the problems that can be caused by an asthma attack? Allergies? Stuff we have naturally?
Life's no fun without a little risk-and we're stuck risking our lives every day just by crossing the street anyway so what's the point sheltering ourselves from a little bit of herbal remedy? |

And yeah but the less risks the better. The less health risks you take the more chance there is of being healthy and living longer. And if theres something you can avoid that will cause health problems you should avoid it. |
