Money: 46 | Lifting weights with no gain. Alright, so I'm a VERY tiny guy - 6'1 and only 125 pounds. Recently, after getting sick of all the jokes people have made about my extreme lack of muscle, I decided I need to start lifting weights. 2 weeks later, I'm noticing I'm only getting weaker. Ok so it sounds crazy right? Well thats what I'm thinking, so I am really open to anyones advice on this. I follow a workout that takes about a hour to do and hits all of my muscle groups. I generally do 2-3 sets of 10 reps. Problem its its only getting harder and harder to meet that amount. For instance I started bench-pressing 100 lbs, and was able to complete my sets. I waited a day of rest and went back to the weights, and I was only able to do 6 reps in the third set. After another day of rest I went back and was only able to do 8-8-5, and its generally following that trend. Any ideas? |

Then when you resume next week you should be back to your normal strength. If you are doing a full body routine do it no more than three times a week. If these things i said above do not improve you results in a few weeks, switch to two times a week.
Also as the above poster said you must eat more. A lot more. That is the key to gaining muscle. Increase your calorie intake per day by 500. That should be a good start. Make sure you eat lots of protein, (Your bodyweight in grams is a good amount per day) And also make sure you are eating at least relatively healthy so you get all the nutrition you need. A multivitamin is probably a good idea. And make sure you get like 8-10 hours of sleep a night. |
