it wont hurt at all unless u think it will. u'll feel a little prick into ur skin and then it might be a little bit sore afterwards, but if ur scared of needles look the other way when its going in. dont scrunch ur eyes or clench ur teeth...just relax and try talking while ur having the blood taken.
It depends on what type of needle, there are butterfly needle is the smalest and least painful, Then there is a larger one name unknown, finaly there is an even larger one used for blood donation. Also depending on the skill of the pathologist It can take upto 20 jabs to find a vein. If you are realy worried ask the person to use a butterfly needle and dont watch the needle, take a friend to hold their hand. If they miss alot rescedule the test fo some other time.

When I had mine it didn't hurt at all.. I'm not too great with needles (who is?) but I reckon it was the least painful needle I've ever had, because they aren't putting anything other than the needle into you.

i had one done a few years ago and it left a bruise which lasted about two weeks.
it's not bad though- i find it's only the thought that is the bad part.

just new to this forum but i 2 am due for a blood test soon and struggle with it. I may have to go to the adult hospital for it as i am getting too old for the kids (double challenge). I've struggled for a long time and last time I was admitted for the day for tests it was recammended i get some help with this stuff. I did and saw a proffessional to discuss experiences and i was also taught imagery and hypnosis to be able to distract myself. also ask for EMLA cream cos it numbs ur skin so that you don't feel it as much. hope this helps
I had a blood test yesterday. before I was really scared of that because I hate needles, too. But than it wasn't bad. It didn't hurt much.

i had several blood tests, it stings a little and thats it, its kinda cool watching the blood go into the little tube thing. sometimes it leaves a nice bruise too, but not a painful bruise.
