Exclamation Am I Too Skinny??

Ok, i am 17yo, i am roughly 5'11" and i weight only 135lbs. no matter what i eat, or how much i eat, i dont budge the scale at all. It always stays between 134-136. Is this a healthy weight for my age and height. Ive been told that im very skinny and id kinda like to gain a little weight. But the problem is, most every kind of food makes me break out in acne...so i tend to not eat alot of fattening food like dairy or junkfood. is ther anything i can do to gain a little weight w/o affecting my acne(as i have just recently, after a long process, cleared it up)

I'm almost 19. I'm 5'10" and weight about 125lbs.I just have a really high metabolism, I can't put on weight either, (unless I have 2 sets of breakfast, lunch, and dinner.)Even then, I can only put on a max of 10lbs.Essencially, all the extra food did was just make me have to crap 2-3 times a day.If I eat normally for one day, i'll lose those 10lbs and drop back to 125. But never any lower.--If you're like me, the only way you'll put on weight is by benching weights, not from eating.The more muscle, the more you weigh, the more food your body actually needs.

You know that there is almost no scientific evidence that shows eating fatty foods causes or makes acne worse. If you get the right amount of vitamins and minerals then you can eat as much fatty food as you want.

Don't replace your meals with fatty ones, just eat more of what you're currently eating. Lifting some weights (if you're old enough) and getting some more protein will help too.

Maybe you just have a fast metabolism.
Which means that your body burns off calories quickly, maybe quicker than other people. So, when others are getting the 2000 or so, that they need, you might be burning those in half the time.
My friend is TINY and has a really fast metabolism, she could literally eat a whole bag of crisp and then go out on a two KM run to burn them all off. She's really tiny, legally she should still be in a car seat (Kinda sad).
So, instead of eating FATTY or just plain high-calorie foods. Try eating a bit more of what you eat everyday, or try slipping in tiny meals, cereal bars, or something between classes.

That's alright, IMO. I'm 15, around 5'9 or 5'11, and I'm only 110. And that's with two rods made out of titanium attached to my spine.

S1919 has a point, there is no link between what you eat and acne. The only things that cause acne is hormones, genetics and stress.

As for gaining weight, lifting would be a good idea. You build muscle mass instead of fat which is good for health in general, just make sure you keep fit so that the muscle mass doesn't turn into fat.

Oh my god guys I am 5'8 185 lbs @ 9% body fat I am so tiny too! No matter what I eat I can't get bigger!!!

All joking aside. For the OP, try eating carb heavy foods: breads, rices, pasta, beans. Eat them in large quantities. And if you do lift weights, you will put on muscle mass, period.

Definitely start lifting, that and eating protein will help you gain the good kind of wieght(muscle).
Im 5'8 115 but i have to lose 3 pounds still to wrestle at my desired wieght class. its a bitch cutting wieght so you should consider yourself lucky

you know, if you eat alot and you sitll stay thin then i think you are naturally just like that. just try to eat healthy, get more protein maybe...you're really quite skinny but not pure skeletal so i wouldn't worry. you sound reasonably healthy.

I don't think you're too skinny. If you work out your BMI (body mass index) it should be between 18 and 25. I just worked out yours and you have a BMI of 18.8 so you're not in the unhealthy range.

ya i know some people like that, that's probably just your natural weight, but if you really want to gain weight try working out and eating more. the only way you'll keep it on is if it's muscle.

I'm about the same as you except im 6'0 and 140. Now when I took a test thing it said I was underweight. So I have been trying to put on some weight work up to 150 maybe eating things high in protein and what not but it doesn't work for me really.

Thing is with working out I'm losing weight it seems lol.
